What does our classic session look like?

Our classic session is our most requested. It is 45 minutes long, held just before sunset and includes up to 10 subjects. Any more than that and we would need the extra time a group session gives us. ​

​BEFORE THE SESSION

Leading up to the session you can expect to receive emails with tips and reminders. You may want to save those in a folder to return to later as all the information may seem overwhelming at the time. We will include information on choosing outfits, locations, hair and make up referrals as well as solidifying the details of the scheduled shoot. 
On the actual session date we will be looking at the weather to ensure conditions are favorable for shooting. We try to wait until just before everyone begins getting ready and bribing the kids because the weather changes so quickly. We aim to arrive at the shooting location right at the agreed-upon time. While leaving early to account for bikes, golf carts, or traffic, we prefer not to start too early when the sun is extremely bright.
We will typically meet in the parking lot and from there, we will walk down to the beach while discussing final details. I will ask if there is anything you especially want to get or if there is something you are wanting printed large. We will prioritize getting those shots first to capture optimal lighting suitable for large prints. ​

The first shot we get will include everyone. This is when everyone is still a little unsure. The kids are not quite comfortable in the new environment, being asked to smile at the strange, the adults are wondering if they're standing correctly. We find this is a good time to give our 'it's ok, we got this' speech with posing tips and get the posed family shot that extended family will add to their walls and on office desks.

We have a general list of standard shots to include with every session: family, couple, individual, siblings. By this time we're all somewhat familiar with each other, everyone is a little more relaxed and we're ready for some cozy, fun lifestyle shots that more reflect your personality than traditional posed shots. 

These are the ones that usually end up in coffee table albums and wall collages!  ​

We will end the session when the sun gets below the water and we start losing the light. 
I will then get to work on the after session; culling and editing. 
The images will be uploaded into an online gallery where you can download the full resolution digital files and place your order. Our job is not done until you are satisfied that you got what you came for. We are fully educated in the printing process and can help you decide what to print at what size. 
When you look good, we look good!
