WHERE WILL THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?
- There are a number of places we can go for your portrait session within the Florida panhandle counties of Bay, South Walton and Okaloosa. While our beaches are usually the number one choice, we do also have beautiful parks and cities. We will discuss your goals for the session and choose on that reflects your personality and style. We have our favorites where we love to go, or we can come to your location if there is parking available.
- The locations Alys, Seaside beach, Watercolor beach and Watersound require you must be a homeowner or a guest staying on their property at the time. Alys Beach also requires a permit that must be applied for in advance.
- If you would like to include your pet, please remember that they are not allowed on the beach without a permit.
- The exact time will of course depend on the time of the year as well as the location and session of choice. We will discuss this when planning your session.
WHAT TYPE OF SESSIONS DO YOU OFFER?
I have several options for you to choose from! We photograph weddings big and small, events, groups, classic family, mini, high school seniors and can create a custom package for you. You can find a summary of each on the SESSIONS page of this website.
WE WANT A GROUP SESSION. HOW MANY SUBJECTS CAN YOU HANDLE?
We have been shooting groups for many years and trust me when I say not only do we have this but yes, we will fit everyone in within an hour. Our largest group to date has been 54 and we were able to capture the whole group and individual families. We have worked out a strategy that begins and ends with communication. We understand this is an investment for you and will do our very best to capture everything you dreamed of. In listening to our clients hopes and wishes we then create session plan to include a list in order of importance, a second shooter or appropriate props if needed. We will send tips and fully explain everything, after all we want you to enjoy this experience!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE SCHEDULE?
We have clients calling months in advance and the summer can get full very quickly. I recommend confirming your session as early as possible. The retainer fee is nonrefundable however it is transferable so if we should need to reschedule you will at least locked in the calendar.
WHAT DO WE DO IF IT LOOKS LIKE RAIN?
This is the hard question. It isn't easy when your job depends on the weather! I have 5 apps downloaded and constantly compare them. The honest answer is, even the meteorologist do not know. The biggest problem is you may get a summer shower yet a mile down the road it is beautiful.
If we are still unsure on the day of the session, we like to wait until before you begin getting ready and just see what it looks like out there. We will offer our opinion and leave the final decision up to you.

- If there is lightening or thunder, we will not attempt a shoot for the safety of everyone.
- When the wind is above 14mph we will not attempt a shoot as the sand can break our equipment, and your windy hair and clothing is not going to make for images you would want.
- If we strongly believe the session would not be successful due to rain, wind or light change from the weather and you choose to attempt it we will consider the session taken place whether or not pictures were taken. A new retainer fee would be required to schedule a new date.
- If it were to rain halfway through the session fee will be reduced to reflect time missed.
I'm worried my child will not cooperate.
We consider children our specialty! We are both trained and experienced with children of all ages. Caitie has 4 children of her own and has worked in the elementary school system. Amy has 5 children of her own and has taught preschool and special education. Not only are we experienced with children we love them all! We fully understand and expect children to display a full range of emotions; shy, hyper, worried, anxious. Children lack the skills to be able to understand and communicate their worries and anxieties of a new environment and expectations.
- Children look to you to know how to accept a new situation. If they see you happy and enjoying yourselves, they will to!
- Know that I will never give uncomfortable demands to your child. I would much rather have a happy child over a perfectly poised child.
- It can help to have the child rested and fed beforehand, as I'm sure it is close to their dinner and bedtime.
- If you would like images of your child in the water, please remember to bring a towel and an extra pair of clothes to wear home.
CAN I BRING MY PET TO THE SESSION?
Absolutely! I only ask that you let me know when planning the session. Please be aware however that animals are not allowed on the beach itself without a pet permit, which you can only receive if reside in the county.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SESSION?
I will edit the photographs and put them up in an online password protected gallery within 2-3 weeks. We will set up a mutual time for an ordering session.

It can take up to 2 weeks for delivery depending on the product. Please let me know if you are in a hurry and I will do what I can to get it to you sooner. If you purchased the disc at the time of the session I will mail it out when the gallery closes.

DO YOU OFFER IMAGE RETOUCHING?
Sure! My process is to cull through the images finding the best of each pose to edit. Trust me, I will find the one where you look your best. When you look good I look good! Any further retouching or culling will be subjected to $10 per image fee, such as hair in the eyes or suntan lines. Please let me know if you have any request within the week the images are in your gallery . I purge the RAW images after the gallery ends and they would be valuable if any further editing is requested.
I can and will fix any flyaways I am able to get before getting the images to you. I do not remove anything permanent unless asked, such as moles, birthmarks or tattoos. These are usually easy fixes and I do not charge for this type of edit

Yes please! In fact I recommend creating a list of important must have images down to 'in case we have extra time' images. This is your session, I want to make sure you are getting just what you came after.
WHAT DO WE NEED TO BRING?
I do have a few tips to help the day run smoother. A blanket or large towel can hold everyone's purse, phone, etc. A fold up chair is nice for older ladies/gentlemen who would like to rest in between shots. For ladies, bobby pins and hair ties in case the wind is not conducive to your hairstyle (and please, now is not the time to tame the mane. I have naturally curly hair and I speak from experience, the beach will not allow you to straighten it. Hairspray will work for flyaway wisps and for mens' hair). If you have any special heirloom item or a childs favorite lovey feel free to bring it for a few memorial shots as well. Oh, if you bring a pacifier or bottle make sure to bring a bottle of water to wash the sand off when it inevitably falls.
