Caitie beth nelsonAwesomely Talented Fun Loving Destin and 30a Family Beach Photographer August and September have become increasingly popular months for our beach photography business. Jessica reached out to us in July of this year about her family's upcoming beach vacation to Destin, Florida. Amy and I serve clients from Destin to Santa Rosa Beach and we know quite a few easy and beautiful spots for our portrait sessions. For our Destin clients we either meet them at their beach access or at Henderson Beach State Park. That's where I met Jessica and her family for my first portrait session of August. Henderson Beach State Park is centrally located and accessed from highway 98. Oftentimes in Destin our clients stay at very busy locations surrounded by tall buildings. Amy and I are very skilled at working with photoshop to remove buildings and people, however, we love having plenty of space to work with our clients and our clients love portraits in front of the dunes, as well as the shore. Henderson Beach State Park gives us more room to move around and the option of taking shots in front of the gorgeous dunes sowed with sea oats. Fun facts: The dunes that spread across the emerald coast aren't just piles of sand. They're a barrier that absorbs large waves and powerful winds, protecting the coast from damaging impacts. They are also home to a special dune grass that grows exclusively on the dunes. The dunes also house mice, snakes, and birds. So, for good reasons, the dunes are protected. For your safety and the safety of the wildlife that resides in Florida - stay off the dunes! Jessica's family started out by the dunes and after a few cute shots we moved down to the water. I like to get individual portraits when the light starts to become more soft. These kiddos all looked so good! They were such cheerful and happy kids and it really shows in their portraits! Plus, it makes my job just a bit easier. ;-) Older children don't need to run and play as often as toddlers and preschoolers, but they surely need a minute or two to to goof off and have fun. They usually have some pretty fun ideas for action shots, too. Check out a few fun ones we captured together! Mom and dad need a portrait together, too! ![]() Although being a beach photographer is the best job ever, it is something Amy and I have worked very hard at learning and perfecting! Do your research when choosing a beach portrait photographer. Call him or her. Ask questions! Get a feel of their attitude and professionalism. The clients we serve are usually in the Santa Rosa Beach,30A, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seaside, Inlet Beach, Destin, Seagrove Beach and Grayton Beach areas which means we serve a lot of vacationers. Your time is precious, so don't just hire any beach photographer for your portrait session! If Amy and I are both booked we always refer our clients to other trusted local professional photographers. Contact us if you'd like to book or if you have any questions. We love to help!
Love, Caitie

As always, I was captured by the photos you took. The family looks genuinely happy on these photos that you have taken and selected a very god place for this session. It makes me happy to see a lot of kids being happy on the photos. I am hoping to see more family portraits that you will be capturing because I can feel that it is your forte, so indeed you must work hard for this one! By the way, I am hoping to see more from you!
