caitie Beth NelsonYOUR Destin & 30a Photographer. I know. It seems like I move a little fast. You might be afraid of that kind of commitment. But, you're here and I'm convinced it's fate. Yes, please, give me all the cozy sweater weather beach sessions! Last year was an incredibly busy year. I made big plans to blog about all the awesome sessions Amy and I shot. What really happened? I took a big fat break during our off season. It was an exhausting year. My family began homeschooling full time while my husband worked almost non stop at 2 different jobs. Wow! Amy began teaching exceptional student education full time, as well. Now here we are, a year later, and I'm finally blogging about this beautiful family. And, this one is totally worth reading all the way through. Especially if you're planning a session in the near future! They all had such a fun vibe about them and I adored their wardrobe selection. I'll tell you a little about them and some tips about selecting their wardrobe and getting ready for a session! Besides beachin' it, while vacationing along 30A the Ellisor family enjoys dining and riding bikes in the Watercolor and Seaside areas. A favorite treat of theirs are the cakes at Modica Market. The lovely Brighton has been to 14 countries in her short 21 years of age! Many of her trips have been mission trips. She has even helped teachers by giving them a break by teaching in the bush of Africa! Brighton has also helped build for Habitat for Humanity. She started out her Freshman year at Baylor University but then transferred to University of Alabama! Fun fact: She met her mother's college roommate's daughter at a camp in California and they became roommates Brighton's Sophomore year at Bama. (How cool is that?!) The gorgeous Carson loved playing high school volleyball. Her volleyball team her Senior year of high school went to State. Carson started out her Freshman year of College at Auburn University then transferred her Sophomore year to TCU. (She wanted to be closer to home <3) Greyson is the family comedian! He has a very dry sense of humor. (LOVE IT) Greyson is a Sophomore in high school. He plays basketball and enjoys being with his teammates and friends. His mama says he's also very kind and is good with children. When I asked Tanya to tell me a how she coordinated the family's wardrobe she said, "We chose the "darker side" of the beach color spectrum. You actually told me that white makes you look thinner on the beach so I took you at your word and it was true! Navy is a sea/beach nautical color, cream is a color you see on the beach in shells and Coral is a color you see in some flowers on the beach but mostly in the ocean. We chose primary those 3 colors because they complimented one another and they are found at the beach! One more thing, I like to repeat the color at least one time to anchor everyone in the picture." <~~~ YAAASSSSS Brag moment: When I asked Tanya about her favorite part of the session she said, "Favorite part about the session was actually YOU. You were very relaxing and easy going. It was a fun session and we also enjoyed being a Grayton Beach State Park. No one was hardly there and it was very peaceful." I sure do love getting paid to have fun and take pictures, but it really feels amazing to hear such kind words. Thank you, Tanya. You made my heart so happy when I read that! Some more awesome advice from Tanya: When I asked her for words of wisdom for other families preparing for a family session along Florida's 30a she told me "I was actually thinking....the next time I have family pictures taken, I would love to have some music playing in the background to relax the whole family. Another tip I have is to make sure everyone at least sorta likes their outfits and especially teenagers....they need to feel good about themselves on picture day. I always lay everything out at least one week before the photo shoot to make sure it all coordinates together, and that nothing needs to be ironed or washed. Mommas like me can sometimes ruin family photo day because we are stressed out. To eliminated being stressed just remember: planning is the key and maybe you need to pop in some happy music on the way to the photo shoot and at the photo shoot." Although being a beach photographer is the best job ever, it is something Amy and I have worked very hard at learning and perfecting! Do your research when choosing a beach portrait photographer. Call him or her. Ask questions! Get a feel of their attitude and professionalism. The clients we serve are usually in the Santa Rosa Beach,30A, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seaside, Inlet Beach, Destin, Seagrove Beach and Grayton Beach areas which means we serve a lot of vacationers. Your time is precious, so don't just hire any beach photographer for your portrait session! If Amy and I are both booked we always refer our clients to other trusted local professional photographers. Contact us if you'd like to book or if you have any questions. We love to help!

It is obvious that this family has a good relationship with each other. We can see that they don't need to force their smiles on each other because it comes out naturally! I am honored to see these photos; the place was great and your subjects are very optimistic; as what these photos are suggesting. When having an outdoor shoot, it is very important to know hoe to make use go natural light. It can be very harsh and give you a bad lighting if you don't know how to maneuver your professional camera.
