- Please take a minute to check out the Q&A page for answers to the questions we get asked the most.
- It’s best to get haircuts at least a week before the shoot. It might take a few days to grow into, a haircut. This buffer allows for some extra growth, tweaks, and perfections to the hairstyle prior to the big day. We also have hair and makeup artists we can recommend.
- Feel free to bring your own special props or children's lovies for a few special heirloom images. If you let me know ahead of time I can be thinking and planning how to incorporate these items into the session.
- Please let me know ahead of time if you plan on bringing pets with you.

Here are some session tips, and we will be sending more along the way. Our goal is to help you make the most of your session and feel prepared but not overwhelmed. We suggest creating a folder to save emails to easily return to later.
Please be sure to add us to your email contact list or mark us as safe. We have had many clients say they are not receiving all our emails. HTG can explain how to do that if you need help.

If any of the children do not like the sand I do have chairs, a white sheet and other little tricks so just let me know! I would much rather have happy children than children in the sand. If you would like me to bring an adult fold-out chair for anyone who may have trouble standing the whole hour and would like to sit while waiting their turn I can bring that as well. - Be thinking of what type of image you want to be displayed in your home and the size. Do you want a larger image to be posed, relaxed, whole family, just the kids, etc. Knowing this will help me in planning the session as we want to shoot larger prints early in the session while the light is bright.

- Let's get them off a disc and on the walls! When thinking about wall images begins with walking around the house. Think about where you would like to display your images. You may want to bring a measuring tape with you, sizes can be tricky. An 11x14 may sound like a large image but on an empty wall, it can be pretty small. One trick is to cut out newspaper to the size you are thinking about and tape it to the wall. Be sure to keep a list so you can fill in what image goes where after you view your images. If you would like examples, check out these awesome wall displays I have found and loved here
- With digital images many times smaller prints such as 5x7 can print just as nicely as a professional image, depending on the company. I can guarantee disc printing up to 8x10. Many will print larger however without being able to see the image I cannot guarantee it. It depends on the lighting, crop factors, and printing company. You may want to go ahead and check out the many Mpix.com. It is where I recommend printing from as they have the highest quality of any of the consumer printers. They not only provide prints but you can get books, cards, and many other items there as well.
