QUESTION AND ANSWER
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
This is a beginners workshop where we will be learning the fundamentals of the DSLR camera. You will get off the auto setting and into working in manual mode, giving you much more control over your photographs.
The first hour will be learning the exposure triangle; iso, aperture and shutter speed. We will touch on composition as time allows. The second hour will be spent walking the grounds as a group practicing while I answer your questions. |
Who is the teacher? Why is she qualified to teach me?
Hi! I am Amy Susi and I will be teaching the workshop. I took art classes from age 7 to 23 when I graduated with my Bachelors of Fine Art degree. I then sold some prints, taught 7th grade art and after school art classes, drew portraits for commissions, and opened my photography business in 2009. Is this an in person or online workshop? We will meet in person. How much is the workshop? When is the payment due? The workshop is $150, $50 retainer fee is due at the time of sign up and $100 due at the workshop. Group discount is available, contact us for more information. Is the retainer fee refundable Due to the limited space the retainer fee is not refundable. What kind of camera do i need? If your camera has an option 'M' for manual then you're in. To get the full experience a DSLR is preferred. (You can read about the DSLR here. An easy way to know is if your lens can be removed). I have two available on a first come first serve basis. Can I bring my children? We be serving wine and with a limited time available, and a lot of information, to get the most out of the class it is preferred no younger children attend. What level of experience do I need? This is a beginner class. Depending on the interest intermediate and advance classes will follow. Will we discuss editing? Not at this class, we will spend the time learning exposure and practicing. How long is the workshop? We will spend an hour going over exposure then I will spend an hour with you practicing. You may stay as long as you like after that to continue practicing. Can I post the photos I take? Of course! What do I need to bring with me? A camera capable of full auto. You must be able to choose the iso, aperture and shutter speed to get the full effect of the class. The cameras original manual book. If you do not have it you can look it up online and save the link so you can find it easily at the class. Each camera have different button locations and having the manual will greatly help. |
