FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
EDITING QUESTIONS
How long will it take for you to edit?
During the summer months, completing a gallery can take 3-5 weeks, depending on the level of editing required. Since I edit both my sessions and Caitie’s, some galleries come together quickly, while others take longer due to fine-tuning details like face swapping, fixing wind-blown hair, and other touch-ups.
I aim to edit each image up to to 80% of it's full potential, balancing quality with efficiency. I understand not every image will be printed and hung on a wall so if I were to completely edit every image to my idea of 100% it would take a year to deliver galleries!
When ordering prints from us I am able to further edit the image to live up to it's full potential because I can determine the size and product it will be used for.

What if I need my images sooner?
We do offer a rush service of $200 to move your session up in the line to those who need their images sooner, or if you just can't wait! Rush Service guarantees delivery of your gallery within three days of payment.
Do you post sneak peeks?
Sure we can do that! If you would like a specific image completed before the whole gallery we will get that up for you right away.
What do you edit?
I’d like to begin by saying that I am a photographer, not a digital artist. While I believe in enhancing images with subtle retouching and distraction removal, my goal is to preserve the authenticity of your special moments—not alter reality. You will look like you. I gently smooth skin tone and texture while staying true to every well-earned smile line and natural detail that makes you you.

Do you accept editing requests after the session?
If you’d like additional edits beyond our standard retouching, we offer further customization for a small one-time fee of $10 to $50 per image, depending on the request. Of course, if we missed something or made a mistake, we’ll correct it at no charge.
Additionally, if you'd like more black and white versions of your color photographs, we're happy to provide them at no additional cost.

Will these images be posted on social media or the internet?
While the law actually states the images belong to the photographer to do with as they please, we do respect our clients privacy. We include in the questionnaire a question asking if you are ok with us sharing the images.
Can I share the images on my social media? On my website? On my publication?
We would love for you to share on social media! Word of mouth is the best advertising, we would LOVE for you to tag us in the caption! To use for advertising purposes, website, publication, or contest will require permission. Editors know this and will email me asking for permission. Of course I would be delighted to do so!
Can I get the unedited images?
We don’t release any images not included with this set of final images, because they were neither created nor intended as final products – they simply enabled me to work out issues that arose to ensure you’d get the high quality images you received.
I love editing too! Can I further edit the images you give us?
It’s fun, isn’t it?! I love experimenting and learning new techniques too! In fact I offer mentoring opportunities you might be interested in!
However, the images you receive from us are final, completed pieces of artwork and are not intended to be edited further, aside from cropping. These images represent our business and artistic vision. The Print Right that comes with your session allows you to print your images, but they may not be altered or changed in any way, as they remain the legal property of Amy & Caitie Photography.

Your experience doesn’t end when we deliver your images—we’re here to ensure your portraits live up to their full potential.
Why invest in professional photography only to have your images lose their beauty and detail with low-quality prints?
The right prints bring your portraits to life, preserving the richness, depth, and artistry we’ve captured.
Whether you print through us or not, we want to help you achieve the quality you deserve—because your memories should be displayed at their absolute best.
PRINTING QUESTIONS
What should I know before downloading and printing my images?
- The colors you see may vary. Screens are all calibrated differently, your images will look different from one screen to another. I have calibrated my screen with my professional printing company to ensure prints from there, and their consumer company Mpix.com, are as intended.
- Our professional company has a consumer printing company, Mpix.com. For true intended color we recommend printing from Mpix.com.
- DO NOT download using a small device such as a smartphone or iPad. The images will condense and will not print with high resolution.
- Consumer prints are great for anything smaller than 8x10. When printing larger the digital pixels must be enlarged. You want them enlarged by a company that can handle it. We of course recommend Mpix.com. DO NOT print from a kiosk, they are only equipped with two to three color inks and do not use archival paper.
- Cropping will change the resolution of your image. While some cropping is inevitable please try to keep it to a minimum to ensure high resolution quality prints.
- Getting the most out of your Digital File article will further explain digital files.
- You can click each title to read more about our products here: prints and frames, albums, and while we do offer individual prints and canvas we do have packages that can help save you up to 35%.
- While we do offer individual prints and canvas, we do carry packages as well that can help save you money.
- With digital images many times smaller prints such as 5x7 can print just as nicely as a professional image, depending on the company. I can guarantee disc printing up to 8x10. Many will print larger however without being able to see the image I cannot guarantee it. It depends on the lighting, crop factors, and printing company. You may want to go ahead and check out the many Mpix.com. It is where I recommend printing from as they have the highest quality of any of the consumer printers. They not only provide prints but you can get books, cards, and many other items there as well.
- If you have any questions please feel free to ask me, whether it has been a month or two years, whether you order through us or elsewhere.
Is there anything I should be doing now to help the process go more smoothly when the images are completed?
You can start by reading through this page, learning about printing digital files and thinking of what you would like displayed and how, what you need for family members.
When thinking about wall images begins with walking around the house. Think about where you would like to display your images. You may want to bring a measuring tape with you, sizes can be tricky. An 11x14 may sound like a large image but on an empty wall, it can be pretty small. One trick is to cut out newspaper to the size you are thinking about and tape it to the wall. Be sure to keep a list so you can fill in what image goes where after you view your images. If you would like examples, check out these awesome wall displays I have found and loved here
