Helping you feel comfortable that you are well informed before investing in your professional photographer
- Take a look around our website, browse the Portfolio to see if our editing and shooting style resonates with you, then head over to the Portrait Session page to find the session that best fits your needs. We offer mini, classic, and group sessions.
- Once you’ve decided we’re the photographers for you, use any contact form on our website to share your vision. Together, we will choose the perfect session to match your goals.
- When you’re ready to book, you will receive two confirmation emails. The first will include your contract and retainer fee details, and the second will contain a questionnaire to help us tailor your session. To confirm your date, simply complete all three steps: sign the contract, pay the retainer, and fill out the questionnaire. These documents will be securely stored in your Client Portal for easy access anytime.
- We’ll also provide you with preparation tips to ensure your session is smooth and stress-free. During your session, we’ll guide you through posing and focus on every detail to create stunning, distraction-free images.
- After your session, we’ll meticulously edit your photos. This process typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on the season, the number of images, and the level of editing required. We do offer a rushed editing as an add on.
- Once your images are ready, we’ll upload them to an online gallery, where you can download your high-resolution photos and order prints, albums, or canvases. We also offer personalized printing consultations to help you beautifully showcase your memories.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where are you located?
|
What time will we meet?
All beach sessions will be held just before sunset. You can get an idea of the time by checking the sunset times in Florida.
|
What is included in the session fee?
You will find all session pricing on the Session Choice page within the website.
|
How many people can be included in my session?
As many as we can fit in the time allotted! Each session has a recommended limit as a guideline however we can discuss alternate session choices. For instance you can bring 50 people to a classic session but time would probably only allow for a good group shot and not individual families. Or we could have a group session of just 6 subjects if they are looking for two locations, Sr pictures, family pictures, or two small families with toddlers.
|
Can our pets be part of the session?
Absolutely! I only ask that you let me know when planning the session. Please be aware however that animals are not allowed on the beach itself without a pet permit, which you can only receive if you own property in the county.

Do you offer image retouching or creative edits?
Yes we do! In fact it is our extensive editing that we feel sets us apart from other photographers.
Keep in mind however that first and foremost we are photographers, we are not digital artist. We are here to document this time in your life and help express it beautifully. We remove distractions, smooth clothing wrinkles, remove hair flyways, even skin tone and remove anything that will not be there in two weeks unless requested (for example we remove blemishes, bruises, and scabs, and leave tattoos, scars and birthmarks.) I, Amy, am trained in digital art. I have my Bachelors degree in visual art and have many certificates and courses on creating digital art. However the family photographer business model does not allow the time for indulging my artistic side to it's fullest. Clients expect an array of photo options in their gallery and in a timely manner. They do not expect a few magazine cover quality edited images or the two month wait that comes with it. While I am willing to spend hours on one portrait it just is not realistic. Add On Edits

What if it rains on the day of our shoot?
Unfortunately, there is not much we can do. Our best advice we have found is to schedule early in the vacation so we have a little wiggle room should we need to reschedule. We have moved a session inside the clients home upon request and can reserve a conference room at a nearby hotel for an impromptu studio. You can read more about our weather policy on this blog post.

What happens if the photographer gets sick or unable to shoot on the scheduled day?
In the rare event that we cannot personally attend your session, we will do everything possible to ensure it doesn’t disrupt your plans. Here's our process:
First, we check with each other—if Amy is unavailable, Caitie will step in. If neither of us can make it, we contact our trusted assistant photographers to handle the session while Amy still completes the editing. If our assistants are also unavailable, we’ll give you the choice to reschedule or help you find another photographer. Rest assured, we will never leave you in a bind or say, “Oops, sorry, you’re on your own.” Your session is our priority, and we are committed to making sure you feel supported every step of the way. |
What makes you qualified to shoot our session?
Fair question—after all, you’re trusting us to capture your treasured memories.
Amy Newsom Susi Amy is a shooter and primary editor for Amy and Caitie. Her passion for the arts began at the age of 9, earning recognition in 14 out of 16 drawing competitions with many published in books and magazines. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and graphic design. With her strong foundation in composition, color theory, and the art of working with light, expanding her expertise to include storytelling, advanced camera techniques, and mastery of digital image enhancement was a natural and exciting progression. Alongside her photography career, Amy has pursued her second love—working with children. She has 10 years of experience teaching preschool, taught 7th grade Art, and provided private art lessons. Amy has also worked with ESE (special education) students, both in self-contained classrooms and through pull-out services, and has completed training as a Registered Behavior Technician. A mother of five—three in college and two still at home—Amy’s specialties include capturing large groups, children, and senior portraits with ease and creativity. Caitie Beth Nelson Caitie is not only a talented photographer but also the glue that keeps Amy and Caitie Photography running smoothly. She handles communication, keeps Amy grounded when her ADD takes flight, and brings her 13 years of photography experience to the team. Caitie has a remarkable talent for posing couples and excels in capturing the magic of weddings, making her an invaluable part of the team both behind the lens and behind the scenes. Like Amy, Caitie has experience in the education field and is also a proud mom to four adorable children. Her patience, organizational skills, and eye for detail make her an indispensable part of the team. |
What type of payments do you take?
We prefer cash payments as the card service (Square and Venmo) charge a fee to use however we do accept debit, credit cards and checks.
|
Are we required to purchase prints after the session? Is there a minimum purchase amount?
No, and no. We offer a range of premium products, including prints, framed prints, canvases, and albums, because we believe your professional portraits deserve nothing but the best. Why invest in high-quality photography only to settle for a $15 print from a kiosk that doesn’t do your images justice?
We’ve carefully vetted several printing companies and partnered with the best to ensure superior quality. Our monitors are professionally calibrated to match the printers, guaranteeing that the colors of your prints remain true and vibrant. Additionally, when you purchase a print, Amy will further refine the image to ensure it looks perfect at your chosen size. This level of attention to detail ensures your memories are preserved beautifully and professionally. |
Can I order prints or products later?
After your session, the RAW images are immediately backed up to three separate hard drives to ensure their safety. Once your images are carefully edited, they will be uploaded to a private online gallery, where you can download, share, and purchase prints. This gallery will remain active for two weeks.
To make room for new clients, the RAW files will be deleted after editing, and the edited images will be removed from two of the three hard drives. This means your images will only remain on one hard drive, so their long-term availability cannot be guaranteed. We recommend purchasing at the time of the session. If you are unsure of what you need just yet you can let me know and I will back up the images as well. |
